The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians officially opened the new Conehatta Elementary School on Monday, October 15, 2001. Conehatta Elementary School is located in the Conehatta community about 8 miles north of Lake (a small town located about 2 miles from the Interstate 20 exit sign, halfway between Forest and Newton).
